On the third day of the Free Diving Outdoor World Championship held in Kaş by the World Underwater Activities Confederation (CMAS), hosted by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF), dives were held in the ‘Fixed Weight Without Fins’ category. 30 athletes from 39 countries, 4 of which were in masters, in women, and 44 in men, 12 in masters, participated in the races. A medal and award ceremony was held in Kaş Republic Square for the athletes who ranked in the third-day races. CMAS President Anna Harznova, Ministry of Youth and Sports Deputy General Director of Youth and Sports Murat Kocakaya, TSSF President Oğuz Aydın, Kaş Mayor Mutlu Ulutaş, CMAS and TSSF managers, representatives of non-governmental organizations, athletes, and citizens attended the ceremony.
Kateryna Sadurska from Ukraine, who dived to 70 meters, won the gold medal in the women’s double-track fixed weight category, Amber Baurke from Austria won the silver medal, who dived to 65 meters, and Fatima Koruk from Hungary won the bronze medal, who dived to 63 meters.
Croatian athlete Petar Klovar won the gold medal in the men’s ‘fixed weight without fins’ category by breaking the world record in the 94-meter dive. Polish Mateusz Malina won the silver medal in the 87-meter dive, and Italian Antonia Mogavera won the bronze medal in the 79-meter dive.
Birgül Erken from Türkiye won the gold medal in the ‘fixed weight without pallets’ category in the 50 + 54 age group, diving to 33 meters. Jesper Stechmann from Denmark won the gold medal in the men’s 50 + 54 age group, breaking the world record in the 72 meters dive. Turkish athlete Birol Özbek, who dived to 56 meters, won the silver medal in this branch, and Peter Münle Traulsen from Denmark won bronze medal, who dived to 42 meters. Pete Botman from the Netherlands won the gold medal in the men’s 55 + 59 age group, breaking the world record in the 70 meters dive. Jens Stoetzner from Germany won the silver medal in the 68-meter dive, and David Moller from England won the bronze medal in the 58-meter dive.
In the men’s 60 + 64 age group, Milton Drageset from the USA won the gold medal in the 33-meter dive, and Karsten Mohr from Germany won the silver medal in the 28 meters dive. Christophe Dromard from France won the gold medal in the men’s 65 + 69 age group in the 40 meters dive. The women’s masters over 70+ age group gold medal was won by Annabel Edwards from the USA in the 20-meter dive.
