Pearl Naval Group, which also includes Pearl Naval Ship Management, announced that the German shipowner and investment company, which has recently joined its fleet, has started to look for Turkish crews for 20 containers and supramax dry cargo ships.
The founder of Pearl Naval, Chief Engineer Gürhan Burak Alkoç, stated that they have reached a fleet of 35 ships with 20 ships under their management, four of which are their own. He said that they aim to gradually replace the foreign personnel on all these ships with Turkish crews.
We stand out because of the war
Alkoç stated that they are in a position to meet the applications of 100 people at the first stage. “We aim to gradually equip the ships we have technical and crew management with Turkish crews as soon as possible. Currently, we employ approximately 250 Turkish personnel, mainly with our new construction project. For this reason, we opened our 4th office in Istanbul. We aim to employ a total of 500 Turkish seafaring colleagues, first of all as officers and then all personnel. Turkish ship people will come to the fore even more due to the war we are following with regret, especially in Ukraine.”
