Sea trials have begun for the first of two pilot boats built by İzmir Shipyard for the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The first IZ 1500 AL series boat is expected to be delivered shortly, while sea trials of the second boat will reportedly begin in November 2024.
According to information obtained by HaberDenizde.com, the boats were built within the scope of USIAD’s “Economic Resilience Activity” project.
The boats, which are 14.60 meters long and 4.30 meters wide, can carry crew and/or passengers. The boats can reach speeds of 40 knots.
