The giant Bermuda-flagged cruiser “Azura” docked at the port in Aydın’s Kuşadası district with 2,129 tourists, mostly US citizens.
Mostly US citizens 2,129 tourists, disembarked from the ship that anchored in Ege Port for the first time, were welcomed with folk dance performances at the port.
Some of the passengers toured the ancient city of Ephesus and the Virgin Mary’s house in the İzmir’s Selçuk district, while those who did not participate in the tour did shopping in the city center.
Aziz Güngör, Regional Director of Global Ports Holding Eastern Mediterranean Ports, stated that Azura has anchored at the port for the first time and will come to the district 4 more times until the end of this season.
Expressing that they will continue to host the world’s largest cruise ships, Güngör said, “We have previously stated that 2022 and 2023 will be the years when Turkey is talked about in cruise tourism. The entire ship industry took Turkey on its route. In the coming period, the cruise tourism sector will revive even more.”
