AK Party Spokesperson and Adana Deputy Ömer Çelik announced that the allocation of the Adana Main Container Port, which will connect the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean via Iraq and Turkey, has been approved.
Making a statement on social media, Çelik said, “The allocation of Adana Main Container Port, which will highlight Adana, which always has a significant potential with its strategic location, in world trade and international transportation corridors, has been approved. In addition to connecting the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean via Iraq and Turkey, Adana Main Container Port will enable cargo transported by rail and road in the east-west, south-north corridors to pass to the Mediterranean via Turkey. “While the installed capacity of all ports in Turkey is 12 million TEU, Adana Main Container Port, which will meet almost the entire capacity, will be a strategic actor that maximizes the commercial potential of Adana and our region”
