Anamur Ferry and Seaplane Pier Opening Ceremony took place with the participation of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. The new Ro-Ro ships, which will sail between Mersin and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), will transport passengers and vehicles to the ports of Mersin-Famagusta, Taşucu-Girne, Mersin-Girne, Taşucu-Famagusta.
Underlining that Anamur Ferry and Seaplane Pier is affiliated with the ministry and was implemented by the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments, Uraloğlu said, “We built our pier, which is 350 meters long, suitable for the docking of passenger boats, yachts, ferries and seaplanes.” said.

“Anamur Ferry and Seaplane Pier was transferred to Mersin Governorship Investment Monitoring and Coordination Directorate by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for its operation on December 12, 2023. Following the transfer, it was leased to Anamur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maritime Tourism Trade and Joint Stock Company by Mersin Governorship on March 15, 2024.” “As a result of the inspections carried out by our Ministry following the application made after the additional superstructure investments made by the company, we certified Anamur Port as an International Port.”
“Anamur – Kyrenia route became the shortest distance sea route”
“Anamur-Kyrenia route has become the shortest-distance sea route between our country and TRNC, taking less than 2 hours. “With the Line Conformity Letter issued by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs under our Ministry, passenger services have started from our pier to Kyrenia Port of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.”
“Piyale Pasha carried 6 thousand 841 passengers”
“Since June 12, 2024, a total of 6 thousand 841 passengers have been transported in 31 departures and 31 return voyages organized by the High Speed Light Passenger Ship named Piyale Paşa. “The commissioning of the pier in Anamur, the closest point of Turkey to the TRNC, and its opening to maritime traffic will make a great contribution to the economy and tourism activities of the district and the region.”
