Aiming to add a second ship to the Romania-Türkiye line and organize daily trips to Romania before the end of the year with the increase in occupancy rates in September 2024, the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs held meetings with relevant stakeholders in order to ensure the sustainability of the Karasu-Constanta Ro-Ro/Ro-Pax project line, increase its carrying capacity and minimize the problems experienced.
A total of 2,388 vehicles were transported on the Karasu-Constanta line, which was opened with the permission granted by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on July 4, 2024 and makes a significant contribution to both vehicle and passenger transportation, as of August 25, 2024, with an 80 percent occupancy rate in exports and 40 percent occupancy rate in imports.
