In the statement made by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, it was stated that it was decided to medically evacuate the Turkish captain on the Panama-flagged LAKER ship, which was heading from the Red Sea to India, due to suspicion of heart attack.
In the statement, “As a result of the coordination between MSRCC (Main Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre) Ankara and MRCC (Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centres) Djibouti, the evacuation of our sick sailor was successfully carried out and he was transferred to the hospital in Djibouti. “We wish a speedy recovery to our sailor.”
