The poems that KRY Coating & Denizcilik founder Capt. Koray Karagöz has been writing for many years, some of which were published in the magazine Dümen, have been compiled into a book called “Turkuaz Senaryo”. The income from the book will be transferred to ITU Maritime Faculty students as a scholarship.
First introduction in Hamburg
Capt. Koray Karagöz, who made the first introduction of the book at SMM Hamburg 2024, said that the income from the book will be transferred to the ITU Maritime Faculty Alumni Social Aid Foundation (DEFAV), of which he is also the chairman of the board, to be given as a scholarship to maritime students. Karagöz said, “My poetry book ‘Turkuaz Senaryo’ was published by Skala Agency. Those who want to buy the book, enjoy the poems and also get my book to help our fellow students can reach our friend Elif Üstün from Skala Agency, me or DEFAV,” he said.
Karagöz describes his poetry journey as follows:
“In 1990, when I was still a high school student, I was introduced to verses thanks to the homework given by my literature teacher who did not like literature. However, our middle school literature teacher Cafer Özkan made us love literature so much, all of us. I would like to thank him first for making me believe that I could write these lines. Then, first of all, I would like to thank everyone who came into my life and embellished my memories and verses. And of course, to my family, to my late mother and father who raised me, to my sister who has been by my side under all circumstances since I was born, to my dear wife who gave the book its name with her eyes, to 6 mat A’ya-YDO 92… And my biggest thanks to Deniz and Mavi. You created me, raised me, raised me, taught me. “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t exist… I present this book to my son Poyraz and my daughter Kumsal.”
