Arkas Sanat Alaçatı, which was implemented in cooperation with Arkas Holding and Çeşme Municipality with the aim of enriching Çeşme’s cultural and artistic activities, opened its doors to its visitors.
Adding a new step to the steps Arkas Holding has taken towards becoming “Izmir’s Art Route” with the exhibitions and events it has brought together with art lovers so far, it has opened the fifth art center, Arkas Art Alaçatı, in Alaçatı within the scope of the protocol signed with Çeşme Municipality.
At the press conference held in Arkas Sanat Alaçatı, Çeşme Mayor Lal Denizli, Arkas Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors Lucien Arkas, Monreve Group Chairman of the Board of Directors Merve Arkas and Arkas Art Director Müjde Unustası made speeches.
Çeşme Mayor Lal Denizli :
We will spread Çeşme over 12 months
“This structure that we brought to Çeşme is very valuable to us. It is an extremely valuable investment for the future of Çeşme, the development of culture, art and especially Çeşme through art. Mr. Lucien is a very valuable person for Turkey as well as for Izmir. It is extremely valuable for us and our future generations that he brings art together with Çeşme, that he welcomes this, and that he brings such a place of our municipality together with such a valuable structure. Limiting Çeşme to two months and defining it only in terms of sea, sand and sun would be unfair to the many natural beauties and cultural heritage we have here. We want that in the coming years, when the semester break comes, families will look for places to go for a few days so that they can have a few days off with their children. “We want our guests to think of Çeşme during the winter months as well.”
Arkas Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors Lucien Arkas:
“Our projects will continue”
“We started opening our art centers thirteen years ago. This is our fifth art center. My claim is that Izmir should be an art center. We also have projects for the coming years. Tourism in Çeşme should also expand beyond the summer season. Çeşme is not just a place to go for a seaside holiday. For this reason, we will solve it with the help of our esteemed president.”
Monreve Group Chairman of the Board Merve Arkas:
Art meets life
“Monreve Group started life with the hotel industry in 2022, with the first location in Alaçatı. After the accommodation sector, we continued in the food and beverage field. As far as I have visited and seen abroad, I have always seen areas full of cafes and patisseries in the field of museology. After seeing those places, we realized why there is no one among the Arkas Art Centers and opened our first place in Alaçatı. We are very excited. Patisserie Arkas Sanat will continue to grow as it grows.”
Arkas Art Director Müjde Unustası:
We draw the route of art
“Arkas Art Alaçatı is the fifth art center in Izmir. We hope that this project, which we implemented in cooperation with Çeşme Municipality, will be beneficial and auspicious for Çeşme. Since we opened our first art center in Alsancak in 2011, we continue to contribute to the cultural and artistic life of our country, especially Izmir. We are actually charting a cultural and artistic route in Izmir with the art centers and projects we have opened. The fifth stop of the route comes to life in Alaçatı as of today and it gives us great excitement. Each of our art centers actually has a main art area that they focus on. We wanted Çeşme and Alaçatı to continue with projects that would suit this place, and we want Arkas Sanat Alaçatı to move forward in a process where we will include the works of modern and contemporary art and artists.
