According to the information received, Doğanay Kurt (22) and Mehmet Kesik (33), who work at Beşiktaş Shipyard, got on the human lifting platform called “boom” for the painting process on a ship.
Allegedly, the workers, who rose to a height of approximately 15 meters, fell to the ground hard due to the rupture at the connection point of the boom. The shipyard’s medical teams tried to resuscitate the workers with heart massage, but they lost their lives.
The dead bodies of the workers were taken to the morgue of Yalova Training and Research Hospital for autopsy. The investigation into the work accident continues.
