The OPEX final report of the Maritime Security Exercise-2023 (EXER MARSEC- 2023 OPEX) carried out by the NATO Maritime Security Center of Excellence Command (MARSEC COE) in Antalya Bay has been published.
The Simulation Based Decision Support System (SIMDES) developed by STM was successfully used in the operational experimentation (OPEX) phase of the exercise.
Played a key role
SIMDES, which played an important role in evaluating the feasibility of the trial scenarios, played a key role in increasing the effectiveness and success of the exercise before the actual implementation. SIMDES has made a major contribution to improving maritime security capabilities and promoting cooperation and innovation.
Two of the scenarios designed for the exercise were turned into simulation scenarios on the SIMDES infrastructure and test runs were made, and the prepared scenarios and test run results, together with the relevant analyses, were presented by STM engineers at the conference held before the exercise.
In simulation before the field
By performing effectiveness analyzes for sea, land and air operations with SIMDES, analysis of combat scenarios can be done in a simulation environment before field application. In the scenarios created by the user, the user can conduct multiple runs with experimental design under different environmental conditions for different platform system configurations, decision mechanisms and behaviors, and analyze the simulation results with multi-criteria decision-making techniques.
