Within the scope of the Control Boat Agreement, which was signed between Ares Shipyard and the Presidency of Defense Industries, the construction of the first of 122 boats was completed and delivered to meet the task needs of the Coast Guard Command and the General Directorate of Security.
Ares Shipyard officials said, “We have successfully passed a critical milestone by accepting the first boat of the Control Boat Project, which is the ‘Largest Mass Production’ in the world shipbuilding archives, with the participation of the Presidency Defense Industry, Ministry of Interior Coast Guard Command and General Directorate of Security delegations.”
The boats built by Ares Shipyard for the Coast Guard Command and the General Directorate of Security will be used for combating irregular migration, search and rescue, combating smuggling, and safety/security operations from the sea.
The 12-meter-long ARES 35 FPB (Fast Patrol Boat), produced with vacuum infusion technology using two inboard diesel engines and water jets and advanced composite with carbon reinforcement, has a maximum speed of 35 knots and a range of 160 nautical miles.
