Gürkan Türkeş, who worked as a business development manager and then as a general manager at RMK Marine for 10 years, retired. Özgün Utku Alanç, who left his position as CEO at ARES Shipyard, was brought in to replace Türkeş. ARES employees sent Alanç off with whites.
Farewell message from Türkeş
On the other hand, Gürkan Türkeş also published a farewell message to his colleagues :
10 years and 2 months… The time that has passed since I started working as a business development manager at RMK MARINE shipyard. It may not seem like a very long time, but since it was very busy and full, when I look back, it seems like at least 20 years to me. Now it is time to hand over my duties as the general manager of this distinguished institution. My retirement request was accepted and Mr. Utku Alanç took over the bridge of RMK MARINE from me. His route will be “growth” and “success”. I believe that he will do more than what I did, what I could not do, and what I did not have the opportunity to do. As they say when leaving the bridge, I bid farewell by saying, “May God bless you”
“To all our customers, solution partners and suppliers at home and abroad, all my colleagues at RMK MARINE (including those who left before me), our senior managers and colleagues in various departments of Koç Holding, RMK MARINE Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Rahmi M. Koç, all our valuable board members and also my senior manager, Koç Holding Tourism, Food and Retail Group President Mr. Özgür Burak Akkol, I wish you all health, happiness, well-being and success. Working at RMK MARINE, which is part of Koç Holding as one of the leading institutions that adds the greatest value to my country, has always made me feel privileged and lucky… And it will always remain so.”
