Melina Travlos, Chairman of the Board of Neptune Lines as well as the dry bulk company Neptune Dry Management, has become the new president of UGS. Travlos will replace Theodore Veniamis, who has held the presidency of UGS for 13 years.
Travlos was elected for a three-year term by a vote of 30 board members from among 42 candidates. Michael D Chandris and Antonios Thomas Lemos will also serve as vice presidents at UGS.
Neptune Lines was founded by Travlos’ father Nikos in 1975 and today has a fleet of 18 car and truck carriers. It also has Neptune Dry, which was founded five years ago as part of Neptune Lines and has a fleet of five bulk carriers.
On the other hand, the Verband Deutsches Reisemanagement (German Business Travel Association, VDR), which was founded in 1907, elected Gaby Bornheim as its first female president two months ago.
