Med Marine has received an order for 2 tugs with fire extinguishing capabilities from Svitzer. The tugs will serve in Egyptian ports and the Suez Canal by the agreement between Svitzer and the Suez Canal Authority (SCA).
According to the agreement between Med Marine and Svitzer, the tugs that will serve in the Suez Canal will be two RAstar 2800 tugs designed by Robert Allan Ltd with a pulling power of 75 tons.
Svitzer will operate six tugs in the Suez Canal with the delivery of 2 tugs by Med Marine.
Med Marine is scheduled to deliver the new RAstar 2800 tugs to Svitzer by the end of May 2022 from its Eregli Shipyard on Turkey’s Black Sea coast.
